West Ham United are in the hunt to sign exit-bound Everton winger Yannick Bolasie, according to The Guardian.

The newspaper report that the Toffees are looking to offload several first-team players under new manager Marco Silva, with electric wide man Bolasie among those deemed surplus to requirements.

The Guardian claim that the Hammers are among the teams interested in signing Bolasie, who made 18 appearances for Everton in 2017/18 after returning from a serious knee injury.

Bolasie joined Everton in a £25million deal in 2016.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes, but it depends on price.

Bolasie has had a torrid time with injury over the past two seasons and is yet to really return to the player he was before he ruptured ligaments in his knee.

However, the former Crystal Palace man is unplayable on his day, and with the right environment there is no reason to think he will not return to that kind of form at some point soon.

West Ham could be the place for him to do that, and if he does, then West Ham will have brought in a brilliant attacking asset.

However, as mentioned, the price must be right, because there remains an element of risk in the deal considering his recent injury troubles.

Likely to happen?

The Guardian report says nothing other than that the Hammers are in the hunt for the 29-year-old, and therefore we are still in the early stages of any potential deal.

The club are currently trying to wrap up a deal for another winger, Felipe Anderson from Lazio, and they may turn their attentions to Bolasie once those talks are finished.
