A move to Inter Milan for West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic is not being discussed by his agent, according to Knees Up Mother Brown.

The dedicated Hammers website state that the key player’s agent, who is also his brother, was discussing a transfer with the Italian giants but it was in regards to his other client Stoke City defender Moritz Bauer.

Knees Up Mother Brown report that this means any suggestions of a swap deal involving Joao Mario and Arnautovic being on the cards are also wide of the mark.

Sky Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio had previously claimed, as seen on his personal website, that the Hammers attacker had been offered to the Serie A side by his brother Daniel Arnautovic.

OPINION

This is certainly a fan-pleasing reason for Arnautovic’s agent to be talking to Inter Milan as Hammers fans will be thrilled to know he’s not discussing a move regarding his brother. There was no doubt a lot of worried supporters over the attacker potentially leaving the London Stadium this summer as he is vital to the club achieving success. While fans may be relieved to hear that a move to Inter Milan is not on the cards according to this report, they would rather they weren’t given a scare like that again in this window. Arnautovic, 29, had a sensational 2017/18 campaign after making a slow start to life after joining the club from Stoke City last summer. The attacker went on to score 11 goals in 35 outings during his debut season and it’s hard to see how the Hammers would have coped without him. While a new boss is set to be in the dugout come the start of the 2018/19 campaign in the form of Manuel Pellegrini, Arnautovic will no doubt remain one of the side’s key players.
