West Ham have become accustomed to grabbing headlines for the wrong reasons and fans were left up in arms last week after it was remarkably claimed that the Hammers could share the London Stadium with one of their rivals.

With Wembley potentially being sold, Chelsea will need an alternative temporary home when they redevelop Stamford Bridge in the coming years and it was claimed they could share a home with West Ham – with it revealed the club’s agreement with the landlords allows for another club to also play their home matches at the stadium.

However, Claret & Hugh states West Ham officials are unfazed by the speculation and a source explained some reasons as to why a stadium share with Chelsea is unlikely to happen.

“West Ham could cause a lot of problems as anchor tenants and it would also mean the club would receive £7.5m and see their rent halved. That means Chelsea will also have to pay silly money to the operator whilst having to cope with any problems that West Ham want to raise.”
