West Ham have started talks with Stoke City about signing their centre-forward Jordan Greenidge in the summer, according to Football Insider.

The reliable news website claims that the 18-year-old will become a free agent at the end of the season when his contract expires.

It is understood that the Hammers are in discussions with Stoke about the teenager, but that the players’ representatives are also in talks with other Premier League and Championship teams.

The report details that Watford, Fulham and Birmingham have all expressed an interest in the English striker.

Stoke will play their last game as a Premier League club at the weekend against Swansea after their relegation to England’s second-tier was confirmed.

Good move for West Ham?



Greenidge is a highly-rated youngster that has been ripping it up for Stoke’s Under-23s side, scoring 25 goals in just 43 appearances.

The striker is being tipped for a bright future and bringing him to the London Stadium to become a future first teamer could be smart.

They will be able to pick him up on a free transfer in the summer and the reward could be very fruitful in the future.

However, West Ham also need to bring in some senior players to bolster their attack and can’t just rely on adding youngster to try please supporters.
