Jack Sullivan has taken to Twitter to endorse the West Ham appointment of Manuel Pellegrini.

The Hammers nut, who is the son of co-owner David Sullivan, revealed on his personal Twitter act that he was “personally really excited” by the arrival of the Chilean.

Sullivan described the 64-year-old former Manchester City manager as a “real class act” who possesses a vast knowledge of football.

OPINION

West Ham fans are excited at the appointment of Pellegrini, who many consider to be a considerable upgrade on David Moyes as well as his predecessors Slaven Bilic and Sam Allardyce. That is a feeling shared by Sullivan, the owner’s son who is renowned for his love of the club as well as understandably upbeat messages about the club. On this occasion, Jack can’t be accused of peddling a relentlessly optimistic view in the face of logic. Pellegrini is not known as the ‘charming man’ for nothing, and you don’t win league titles in three different countries all while playing attractive football without possessing an extensive and exhaustive football knowledge. It is this that West Ham are keen to tap into, following two miserable campaigns that have coincided the disastrous move to the London Stadium. Supporters are desperate for excitement and heroes, players capable of winning as well as entertaining, in the same way that the much-missed Dimitri Payet did for 18 unforgettable months.
