West Ham’s desire to improve their attacking ranks is no secret and a fresh name has been added to the list of potential transfer targets.

Spanish outlet Sport claim Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer has plenty of suitors this summer, with an exit from Camp Nou looking likely following the lack of opportunities for the former Valencia hitman.

Whilst the original report doesn’t name West Ham specifically, TeamTalk suggest that the Hammers are interested, along with fellow Premier League sides Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle United.

Signed for €30m, Barcelona are keen to recoup the fee they paid for the 13-cap Spain international and the potential signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid could force the World Cup hopeful out of Catalonia.

Since signing for Barcelona, Alcacer has scored nine goals in 33 La Liga appearances but his chances with the national side have decreased dramatically, having not been called up since 2016, and it’s leaving the 24-year-old set for World Cup heartbreak.

A transfer this summer could revitalise his international career though and a move to the Premier League looks possible.
