West Ham are being linked with a host of potential recruits ahead of a busy transfer period this summer, although it seems reported interest in one World Cup striker is premature.

The Evening Standard claims that the Hammers are not interested in the services of Krasnodar striker Fedor Smolov, who is poised to lead the line for host nation Russia at this summer’s international tournament.

Speculation linking Smolov, who was linked with a loan move to West Ham in January, has risen significantly this week but the Hammers seem to have their sights cast elsewhere, including Fulham loanee Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Serbian striker has found his form in the Championship on-loan from Newcastle United and could be on the move this summer, where he may raise interest in his services with solid performances for his nation on the World Cup stage.

Smolov, who has scored 14 goals in 24 games, is understood to be keen on a transfer but may not get the opportunity to move to the London Stadium.
