West Ham are confident of agreeing a new deal with Republic of Ireland international Declan Rice early in the summer window, despite David Moyes being keen on signing two defensive additions in the transfer window.

Football.London are the latest to state that Rice is set to quadruple his current earnings after an impressive display at the London Stadium this summer, with the 19-year-old having stepped-up from the U23 ranks following a wealth of defensive injury problems this season.

Rice’s rapid rise to stardom has seen him become a crucial asset in Moyes’ side this season but the Scottish boss is keen to bolster his ranks in defence this summer, although the potential arrival of two defensive additions will not necessarily harm his chances in the first-team.

It’s suggested that Rice could potentially move into midfield following the arrival of new defensive recruits, giving the Republic of Ireland international the chance to impress in other areas.
