West Ham have plenty to think about heading into this weekend’s crucial relegation showdown against Southampton, where the Hammers will look to spark a run of form to secure safety in their final eight Premier League matches.
David Moyes’ side were sucked back into the relegation fight following a run of three consecutive defeats prior to the international break and a major blow was issued this week with the news that Manuel Lanzini picked up a knock on duty with Argentina.
However, Claret & Hugh have eased the fears surrounding the South American as they report he’s avoided any breaks, fractures or tears and inside needs rest after sustaining a slight strain- giving him a chance of featuring this weekend.
Lanzini is unlikely to be risked as a starter but could feature off the bench if West Ham need an injection of creativity, though he could be saved for the bigger tests around the corner that include Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
