West Ham’s defensive line has been prone to plenty of issues this season, which has resulted in the Hammers sitting just three points above the relegation zone as we enter the business end of the season.

Major losses have been endured by a Hammers defensive line, who made a controversial decision to sell Jose Fonte to China in February, and the club are crying out for reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

Reports have claimed that the Hammers could be handed a golden opportunity to sign Colombian defender Yerry Mina on-loan from Barcelona, as the Catalan giants are set to encounter a problem with their squad registration this summer due to the number of non-EU players they will have on their books.

Mina, who was at one point linked with a switch to the London Stadium, looks to be the player most likely to be sacrificed out of Paulinho, Philippe Coutinho and new signing Arthur, who will arrive from Gremio this summer, and bringing him to West Ham would signal a major statement of intent from the Hammers.

However, Tottenham Hotspur are also attributed with an interest in the Colombian international and he could raise further interest in his services at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
