West Ham boss David Moyes has made his desire to improve the club’s midfield options no secret, though the Hammers failed to significantly bolster their ranks during the January window.

A host of targets failed to secure moves to the London Stadium but one of them, Leander Dendoncker, remains on the Hammers’ short-list and could be on the move this summer.

The 22-year-old Belgian international has spoken on a number of occasions about his desire to leave Anderlecht and a significant boost has been issued to West Ham, as Belgian outlet DH state the club have been preparing for his departure since the mid-season window.

Anderlecht have reportedly identified a replacement for Dendoncker in the form of Genk’s Ibrahima Seck and reportedly opened talks with the player in January, though they’ve missed the chance of landing his services for free.

Seck renewed his deal with Genk and Anderlecht will now have to pay a fee to land the Senegalese midfielder, although they can expect a tidy sum from West Ham if the Hammers push to sign Dendoncker.
