West Ham have slumped down the Premier League table to sit just three points above the relegation zone, following three consecutive defeats at the hands of Liverpool, Swansea City and Burnley.

Pressure upon the Hammers has increased significantly, especially after fan protests during the recent defeat against Burnley at the London Stadium, and the club’s looming threat of relegation has led to growing discontent at the club.

This year’s relegation fight is fiercer than ever and Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has predicted who he believes will suffer the drop to the Championship, predicting West Ham will be relegated alongside West Brom and Huddersfield Town.

Making his predictions, the former Arsenal man said:

“I agree that West Brom have gone, not many would argue with that right now. Then, given I’m going for Crystal Palace to beat them this weekend, my next team is Huddersfield.”

“Finally, after the embarrassing scenes last weekend, West Ham are my third side to face the drop. The atmosphere at that club is toxic right now and it is going to be very difficult to turn that around before the end of the season.”

Other pundits Matt Le Tissier, Phil Thompson and Paul Merson did not agree, instead picking out Southampton and Stoke City are their tips to be relegated.
