West Ham face a stern test in the final week of the January transfer window to get their squad in shape for the battle that lies ahead, as the Hammers sit just six points above the relegation zone.

According to Spanish outlet El Gol Digital, the Hammers are ‘very close’ to securing the services of Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona and are willing to pay £20m to land the former Everton man.
The Spaniard has struggled to assert himself in the La Liga leader’s squad this season and is set to be on the move yet again, with a return to the Premier League looking likely, and the Hammers want to sign the playmaker due to the injury sustained by Manuel Lanzini.
