West Ham boss David Moyes is continuing to push for new signings in key areas this month, as he seeks to battle away from the Premier League’s relegation zone.

The high-spending Hammers have struggled to keep their head afloat this season but have experienced a huge upturn in form following the appointment of the Scottish boss, who’s now seeking to continue his work in the transfer market.

Having already seen approaches for Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey rebuffed, West Ham have reportedly set their sights on another Magpies player as The Chronicle attributes the Hammers with interest in Christian Atsu.

West Ham are seeking Atsu as a signing to bolster the right-hand side of their attack, following injury to Michail Antonio, but convincing Rafael Benitez to part ways with an important player within his squad will prove to be extremely difficult.

Unfortunately for West Ham, that means a signing is unlikely to go ahead and they’ll have to look elsewhere if they’re to bolster their squad in this particular area.
