West Ham United are plotting an ambitious swoop in January for two established Premier League aces, as they seek to pull away from the relegation zone.

The Hammers seem to have turned a corner in recent weeks, showing improvements in their defeat to Manchester City before securing their first win under David Moyes’ guidance with a 1-0 win over Chelsea, then holding Arsenal to a 0-0 draw.

That has seen Moyes’ side move to just one point from safety and the Hammers will be hoping to rise out of the relegation zone before the New Year, where the club intend on significantly bolster their ranks with the addition of prime acquisitions.

The Daily Express states that West Ham will be keeping their transfer search close to home and will look to sign two men from Premier League rivals Arsenal, in the form of midfielder Jack Wilshere and experienced striker Olivier Giroud.

Both Gunners men are keen to earn regular first-team action in their quest to make their respective nations’ World Cup squads next summer, with the pair currently enduring a bit-part role in the campaign of the North London side.
