West Ham face a busy period in the months ahead as they seek to battle their way out of the Premier League’s relegation zone and look to bolster their squad in the New Year with significant additions.

The Hammers are being linked with a whole host of names ahead of the January transfer window but a number of important deals could come internally, so fans will be pleased to see one significant piece of news being reported.

Football InsiderĀ indicate that West Ham are in advanced negotiations with young defender Declan Rice regarding a new contract, with the 18-year-old’s current deal set to expire at the end of next season.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international is a highly-rated prospect within the corridors of the London Stadium and has made 10 first-team appearances this season, having made his debut on the final day of last year’s campaign against Burnley.

A long-term deal is the priority for West Ham to complete and they’re optimistic of completing a deal in the coming weeks or months.
