West Ham exited the Carabao Cup following a narrow defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last night but it appears it was not the only clash that the Hammers were involved with in North London.

The Daily Mail states experienced striker Diafra Sakho clashed with manager David Moyes ahead of the game regarding his lack of Premier League starts since the Scottish boss took over, which led the Senegalese striker to no longer want to take his place on the bench.

A bonus in the 27-year-old’s contract sees Sakho earn £50k in bonuses for every league start he makes but those opportunities have not been forthcoming under Moyes, though he did come off the bench to score a brace against Stoke City at the weekend.

Sakho is yet to start a game this season and believes it’s due to a clause in the contract he signed in the summer, with the bonus doubling his average weekly salary- but it’s proven to be a sticking point thus far.

Given his form against Stoke, Sakho could well start this weekend’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United but the African ace has been linked with an exit in January, with Moyes looking to rejuvenate his striking options.
