West Ham are flying high after their 1-0 victory over defending champions Chelsea, which handed David Moyes his first victory in charge of the Hammers.
The result handed the East London side a significant boost in their battle to escape relegation but there’s still work to do and there’s also stern tests right around the corner, with Arsenal visiting the London Stadium tomorrow.
Arsenal have seen their form drop in recent weeks, losing to Manchester United and drawing with Southampton, with it being clear that the Gunners are certainly not as strong on their travels as they are on home soil.
However, former Arsenal man Paul Merson expects his old club to secure victory over the Hammers, predicting a 3-1 win in his weekly predictions for Sky Sports.
“West Ham are a bag of revels. I watched them play at Everton, and they were absolutely slaughtered. They were so poor. They then could have got a result at Man City then they beat Chelsea.”
“I still think Arsenal will win this, because Arsenal do have joy at West Ham, and they put so much into that win over Chelsea they might not have much left in the tank.”
