West Ham are one of seven teams tracking Saint-Etienne winger Jonathan Bamba, according to Foot-sur7.com.

The French website reports that the Hammers, Newcastle, Inter Milan, Sevilla, Werder Bremen, Atalanta and Huddersfield Town have all been watching the 21 year old since the close of the summer transfer window.

Bamba’s contract at Saint-Etienne expires next year, and he was left out for two recent league matches after talks collapsed over a new deal. He did however return to the starting eleven last weekend for the 0-0 draw against Toulouse.

Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb report that Inter are targeting Bamba in the January transfer window, and Saint-Etienne may have no choice but to sell the forward to the Serie A side if they can’t agree a new contract with the French under 21 international.

Whether West Ham would look to make a similar bid in January, it remains to be seen, although it is more likely they are interested in signing the player on a free transfer, if Bamba allows his contract to run down.
