The Sun are reporting the West Ham board are so worried that the club will not have enough points before a horrific run of fixtures at Christmas that they are ready to fire manager Slaven Bilic without a replacement being lined up.

Journalist Duncan Wright named seven managers that the Hammers would be keen to hire but it is believed that none of them would be interested in taking the job at this time.

Where that leaves Bilic is really anyone’s guess. A win against Liverpool would certainly take the pressure off both the owners and the board, but it could still be a stay of execution for the West Ham boss.

The Hammers face Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in successive games before Christmas, and there is a danger that the London club could be deep in the relegation mire after those fixtures if results don’t pick up before then.

Wilfried Zaha’s last gasp equaliser for Crystal Palace at the weekend reportedly left the West Ham owners “dismayed” according to the Mirror, but it’s believed that David Sullivan and David Gold would prefer to keep Bilic in charge until the end of the season when his contract expires. Their hand may however be forced if things don’t improve quickly.
