Javier Hernandez has been West Ham’s Player of the Season, according to a report from TalkSPORT.

The Hammers have had a tough start to the new season, winning only 2 of their 11 Premier League games thus far which resulted in a change of management only last week.

Slaven Bilic was sacked from his role at the club after 2-and-a-half years, and was replaced by ex-Sunderland manager David Moyes only days later.

However in what has been a period of turmoil in East London, TalkSPORT believe Hernandez has been the bright spark in an otherwise dour campaign.

“West Ham have been so, so poor this season, and the only reason they do not prop up the Premier League table is because of Javier Hernandez’s goals.” the report said.

“He has netted 4 times in 11 appearances to lead the Hammers’ scoring charts, and any hope of the club surviving the top flight will rely on new boss David Moyes keeping Hernandez firing in front of goal.

“Hernandez does little aside from score, and Moyes may want a striker who works for the team slightly more, but his goal record remains impressive given just how poor West Ham have been this term.”

So Hernandez Player of the Year so far. What do you reckon?
