West Ham United have started to show improvements since replacing Slaven Bilic with David Moyes but the Scottish manager is still awaiting his first victory in charge of the Hammers.

The appointment of Moyes, who was relegated with Sunderland last season and has endured difficult spells with Manchester United and Real Sociedad since leaving Everton, has certainly raised some eyebrows- even though a deal is initially only until the end of the season.

It appears that Moyes wasn’t first-choice for the West Ham board in their quest to replace Bilic though, with The Daily Record reporting that the Premier League strugglers sounded out Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers regarding a move to East London.

Rodgers, who has enjoyed a record-breaking spell in Glasgow, was not keen on returning to English football just yet as he is loving life with the Bhoys, winning all four domestic trophies available to him after lifting the Scottish League Cup at the weekend.

Celtic are also fighting to reach the knock-out stages of the Europa League, having struggled in a difficult Champions League group alongside Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
