West Ham slumped to their fifth defeat of the season on Friday evening, falling to a 3-0 defeat against Brighton at the London Stadium and raising the pressure on manager Slaven Bilic in the process.

The Hammers boss is no stranger to pressure, having been linked with an exit midway through last season, at the end of the last campaign and earlier this year before the transfer window broke, but West Ham’s latest slump may be the final nail in the coffin.

Reports indicate that Bilic will be given two games to save his position, starting with Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie with a high-flying Tottenham Hotspur, before a crucial game at the bottom of the Premier League next weekend against Crystal Palace.

A cup exit and a defeat to an Eagles side currently rock-bottom of the division would surely bring an end to Bilic’s reign but West Ham legend Trevor Sinclair has called for the players to respond, stating that timing is everything when making a managerial alteration.

The West Ham squad has largely unperformed this season, with big money signings Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic failing to significantly improve the squad, and that needs to change in the months ahead- regardless of whether Bilic stays on as manager.
