West Ham United super sub Arthur Masuaku is eyeing a regular spot in Slaven Bilic’s starting XI following a string of impressive performances.

The recently called up DR Congo international provided a wonderful assists for Diafra Sakho to score the winner against Swansea at the weekend, and was on target in the Carabao Cup against Bolton to score his first goal in Claret and Blue with a brilliant strike from outside the box.

While Bilic still seemingly prefers Aaran Cresswell and left-back and Marko Arnautovic on the wing, Masuaku says he hopes to give the Croatian a headache in weeks to come by keeping up his good form.

“I feel good and, in my opinion, I just have to keep focused even when I am not playing and try to do my best for the team. That is working well for me at the moment.” he told whufc.com.

“I am happy to keep working. In the last game [against Tottenham] I crossed and Cheikhou scored and now I am even more happy because we won, as last week we didn’t manage that.

“It is not frustrating not to start. The coach makes the decisions and I have to give him a headache. I am still young.”

Masuaku’s only start in the Premier League this season came against Manchester United on the opening day in a 4-0 loss, however the former Olympiacos forward says he is happy to help from the bench and has praised his side for their 1-0 victory over Swansea at the weekend.

“It was good to win,” he observed. “It was a very tough game against a good team, but we have the three points and this is the most important thing for us.

“It was difficult, as Swansea played very well, but I have to be honest, I don’t think we played well, in my opinion. We have to improve and work hard in training starting from next week.”
