Andy Carroll remains a fan favourite at West Ham but he could actually be responsible for the club’s struggles this season, with the Hammers having won just two of their opening seven matches and sitting with just seven points to their name.
The Hammers have found things difficult ever since leaving Upton Park for the London Stadium, spending the majority of last season flirting with relegation before a late revival secured their Premier League status, but this season is in danger of following a similar pattern.
A fortunate victory over Swansea last weekend gives the Hammers some breathing room heading into this week’s international break but there’s certainly a lot of work to be done when the Premier League returns next week- and it may be time for a big tactical switch.
