Could this man play for West Ham again?

West Ham fans don’t tend to agree very often, but we can all sing in unison over Robert Snodgrass terrible run in the Claret and Blue.

The 30 year-old appeared to be a promising signing in January following a superb first half to the season with Hull City.

Co-owners Gold and Sullivan rescued him from the clutches of relegation to help join the fight at the London Stadium in a £10m move. Unfortunately, Snodgrass’ spell on East London may see him go down as one of the biggest flops in Hammers history.

Time and time again the ex-Norwich winger found himself running down a blind-alley. And with each poor touch, dire cross or awful shot his lack of confidence became all the more evident. After all, the Scot was effectively brought into fill the shoes of Dimitri Payet – an improbable task at best.

Snodgrass has since dropped down to the Championship, sealing a loan-move to Aston Villa. But the winger still has the best part of three years to run on his Hammers contract so is it inconceivable to picture him a West Ham shirt once again?

If the midfielder tears it up in the Championship this season (something he has achieved for both Norwich and Hull), and Villa fail to get promoted, it’s unlikely he will continue in the second tier.

Should Slaven Bilic be relieved of his duties by the end of the season – which is currently probable, the new man may see something in Snodgrass and give him another run out.

Hammers fans, would you give the attacking midfielder another go? Let us know in the comments…
