West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to share their delight at Andy Carroll’s performance in the Hammers 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at the London Stadium last night.
Carroll was one of the key men in the win over David Wagner’s side, helping secure the club’s first three points of the season after a difficult start to the campaign.
Big and strong as always, the Englishman caused plenty of problems for the Terriers defence – who had yet to concede a Premier League goal until last night – all evening, and while many expected him only to make a cameo, the striker lasted an impressive 81 minutes.
Carroll had not played for Slaven Bilic’s side since April through injury, however his return was greeted with a huge noise by the West Ham fans upon kick-off, and they were not disappointed with his performance.
A number of fans have taken to Twitter to share their appreciation of the big man’s return …
Andy Carroll is less a lone striker, more like a piece of medieval siege equipment being wheeled about like a ponytailed trebuchet #WHUHUD
