West Ham fans have been left embarrassed after a shocking statistic showing the extent of the Hammers poor record in front of goal.
Last night, Tottenham striker Harry Kane scored a Champions League hat-trick against APOEL to take his total to the season to nine goals already.
West Ham have managed to find the net only 11 times in all competitions this season, but what is more shocking is the record of the club’s former misfiring strikers when compared to man of the moment Kane.
Kane’s trio took his Tottenham total to 108 goals, with most of those coming in just the past three-and-a-bit seasons.
That 108 is a whole 12 more goals than West Ham’s last 30 strikers have managed between them. Yes, 30.
While Hammers fans were fully aware of their club’s misfortunes in front of goal over the years, the most recent revelation puts into perspective their lack of form in front of goal.
Amongst those 30 strikers are of course the current crop – Andy Carroll and Javier Hernandez – as well as a few unsavoury names such as Simeone Zaza, Benni McCarthy and Mauro Zarate, all of whom flopped tremendously in East London.
Fans aren’t happy, and have taken to Twitter to say so …
Another stat to backup our progress under Sullivan and @davidgold. Keep up the good work lads. https://t.co/jUT97naRAd

And people still trust the boards recruitment policy.
