West Ham finally earned their first points of the season after a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield on Monday night.
The Hammers had suffered three defeats on the trot, conceding 10 goals in the process and the fans were restless.
It was a game cited as a crunch match for Slaven Bilic’s job security after a poor run of form.
The breakthrough came in the 72nd minute when Pedro Obiang’s 25-yard strike heavily deflected offf Mathias Jorgensen’s back and looped over keeper Jonas Lossl.
Bilic’s decision to substitute Javier Hernandez and replace him with Andre Ayew led to a chorus of boos, but the Croat’s plan paid off as the Ghanaian was on hand to prod home the second goal.
The East Londoners are now preparing to face West Brom away on Saturday where they look to build on the win.
Hammers fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate the victory over David Wagner’s side…
