West Ham have turned their attention to fellow Sporting Lisbon stars Adrien Silva and Joao Palhinha after their move for William Carvalho is failing to progress, reports Jornal de Noticias (via Sports Witness).

Carvalho has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium over the past weeks, but despite the player agreeing personal terms with the Hammers and keen on the switch to East London, the two clubs are yet to agree a fee for the player which is acting as a significant roadblock to the move going through.

Amidst the uncertainty, the Hammers are thought to be turning their attention to Carvalho’s team-mates Adrien Silva and Joao Palhinha, for whom they are trying to secure a double swoop for around €30 million.

Jornal de Notícias claims the €30m joint bid would even give Sporting the chance to get 25% of a future Palhinha sale, and in response the Portuguese side have asked for €5m more.

Reports elsewhere suggest Carvalho is indeed set for London, with the midfielder set for a medical at West Ham in the coming days.
