The Hammers need another centre half. Desperately. Winston Reid is out injured for the coming weeks; Angelo Ogbonna has only just returned to action; and Jose Fonte, well, where to begin. The Portugal international has been less than half the player he was at Southampton since joining, and his performances during pre-season and so far this year suggest his time at the London Stadium could be soon over.
Mamadou Sakho is reportedly free to leave Liverpool if the price is right. West Ham should pay it. A France international and proven performer on the European stage, Sakho will be worth the cash.
