Hammers not at the races
All the summer signings. All the hype. But West Ham didn’t turn up on the day. Was it nerves? Was it that the players still haven’t gelled? Or was it just an anomaly bad performance in what will be a positive season for Slaven Bilic’s men?
The likelihood is that the middle of those three hypothesises is the correct one. With a number of new players and young players emerging, Bilic’s men looked in-cohesive as a unit. Time will hopefully bring that, but fans may have to be patient.
