Manuel Lanzini has returned to first team training ahead of tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup clash with Cheltenham Town, much to the delight of the West Ham fans.
The Hammers travel to Whaddon Road for the fixture, their third consecutive away day, and while Lanzini is not expected to be fit for the encounter, he could feature at the weekend against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Argentine has been sorely missed in the Hammers opening two fixtures of the Premier League season – losses to both Manchester United and Southampton – and the news of his return will come as great relief to Hammers fans and Slaven Bilic.
Lanzini has emerged has one of the club’s most influential players over the past two seasons, finding the net 15 times, and beginning to fill the void left by the departure of Dimitri Payet back in January.
A man whom all Hammers fan will want to see gracing the field against Newcastle at the weekend, the faithful are delighted their main man is back in business …
