West Ham vice captain Winston Reid has signed a new long term deal with the club that will keep him at the London Stadium until 2023.

The New Zealand international joined the Hammers in 2010, and has since become a cult hero and one of the most important players at the club.

Since signing from Danish club FC Midtjylland, Reid has made over 200 appearances in Claret and Blue, and has found the net a total of 10 times. His new deal could see him spend a total of 13 years in East London, should he stay with the club until his contract expires.

“I’m very happy,” Reid said speaking on the club’s official website. “I’m pleased we’ve got it sorted so I’m obviously looking forward to the seasons ahead. It’s going to be a big amount of time I’ve spent at the Club and I’m looking forward to it.

“I’ve been here a long time now! I think with the business we’ve done over this summer and the players we had here before, I think we can go on to have a good season and seasons ahead. It’s all about trying to get better.

“I enjoy being here and my family does as well so I’m very happy I’m able to stay here.”

Reid joins a growing list of West Ham players who have committed their future to the club, with Pedro Obiang and Angelo Ogbonna also signing new deals with the Hammers this summer.
