West Hams have taken one positive from the weekend’s disaster 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United: the performance of young Hammer Declan Rice.
Rice came on for captain Mark Noble just passed the hour mark at the score still at 2-0, and despite United going on to score a further two times with the youngster on the field, the 18-year-old gave a terrific account of himself, much to the delight of the West Ham fans and Slaven Bilic too.https://twitter.com/dolsenallen/status/897069412175536129
During his half-hour cameo, the Irishman made a total of 22 passes and boasted an impressive 96% pass completion rate. He also made two inceptions and was not dispossessed a single time.
Comfortable on the ball, and with a work rate to be admired, Rice’s performance was a huge positive in what was an otherwise underwhelming afternoon, and the youngster already looks as if he has a huge future at the London Stadium.
West Ham fans seem to agree …
Swear to god we better not loan out Declan Rice

He made a very convincing case for more game time, even starts, this season.
