Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is set to have a medical with West Ham ahead of his proposed record move to East London, reports talkSPORT.
The Portugal international has reportedly already agreed personal terms with the Hammers, however discussions over the fee are still ongoing between the two clubs.
West Ham have already bid a reported £27.5 million for the 25-year-old – a club record – however Lisbon are thought to be holding out for closer to £36 million.
Carvalho has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent seasons with London rivals Arsenal, however the Portuguese star is now understood to be keen to wrap up a move to West Ham after years of speculation of a switch to England.
The Lisbon star was a key member of Portugal’s European Championship winning squad of 2016, playing all of his country’s games throughout the competition besides the semi-final for which he was suspended.
