Championship strugglers Aston Villa have emerged as favourites to land out of favour West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass, says Football London.

The Scot was left out of Bilic’s squad for Sunday’s clash at Manchester United amidst the rumours over his future, and Villa are understood to be keen on taking the winger off of the Hammers’ hands.

While the Championship club are thought to prefer a loan deal, West Ham would rather sell the player and recoup some of the £10 million spent on him earlier this year.

The Scotland international – who joined the Hammers in January for the double figure sum – has since struggled to make an impact at the London Stadium.

Snodgrass made 15 appearances in the latter half of last season for Slaven Bilic’s side, but failed the find the net, something he achieved an impressive 9 times before Christmas with former side Hull City – form that prompted West Ham to fork out for his services.

With the club having signed a number of players this summer however, the 29-year-old finds himself surplus to requirements and move away seems imminent.

Hammers fans – to say the least – don’t seem to worked up about the idea of Snodgrass leaving London for the Midlands …
