Championship strugglers Aston Villa have emerged as favourites to land out of favour West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass, says Football London.

The Scotland international – who joined the Hammers in January for a fee of £10 million – has since struggled to make an impact at the London Stadium and has been heavily linked with a move away from the club only months after signing.

Snodgrass made 15 appearances in the latter half of last season for Slaven Bilic’s side, but failed the find the net, something he achieved an impressive 9 times before Christmas with former side Hull City – form that prompted West Ham to fork out a double figure sum for his services.

The Scot was left out of Bilic’s squad for Sunday’s clash at Manchester United amidst the rumours over his future.

It is reported that Villa are keen to take the winger on-loan, however West Ham would rather sell the player unless the Championship side are able to cover his total wage bill. Should he leave on a permanent basis, it is likely the Hammers would receive around £8 million.
