Slaven Bilic has praised the West Ham fans who have travelled ‘all over the country’ during the few few weeks of the club’s new season for their brilliant support.

The Hammers have played their first three games of the campaign away from home – in Manchester, Southampton and Cheltenham respectively – and are set for another long trip this Saturday when they take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Bilic has revealed his gratitude towards the Claret and Blue army who have followed his side during the difficult period, and says their support really does help his side.

“This will be our fourth away match in a row and I must say thank you to the supporters who have travelled all over the country already, and it is still August!” said Bilic.

“We have been north to Manchester, south to Southampton, west to Cheltenham and now we go north again to Newcastle, and our sections in the stands have always been full.”

The Hammers have been forced to play all their games to date away from home due to the London Stadium not being fit for use following it hosting the World Athletic’s Championships earlier this month. Bilic’s side will have to wait until September 11th for their first game at home, when they welcome Premier League new boys Huddersfield Town.

“It may sound like a cliché or whatever, but the singing and the support do make a difference. They give the players that little extra motivation to go out there and do well.”
