West Ham have agreed a deal with German side Bayer Leverkusen for the £16 million transfer of striker Javier Hernandez, says the BBC.
Rumoured to be on his way out of the Bundesliga for a number of months, speculation surrounding Hernandez’s future has been ongoing with a number of clubs interested in the Mexico international, however those whispers will now come to an end with Chicharito set for a return to the Premier League with West Ham.
Hernandez left the England and Manchester United in the summer of 2015 after being deemed surplus to requirements by former manager Louis Van Gaal, but has since enjoyed two good seasons in the Bundesliga with Leverkusen, scoring 39 times in 76 matches for the German club during his two year tenure.
The 29-year-old will become West Ham’s third signing of the summer with the club have already completed deals for both Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart and former Manchester United player will now fly to London to finalise personal terms and have a medical with the Hammers.
The official announcement has come as an absolute delight to West Ham fans …

If West Ham don't make a chant for Javier Hernandez with the word 'Chicharito' to the tune of Despacito they've missed a huge opportunity pic.twitter.com/SCVTZrnacJ

West Ham have paid £2m less for Javier Hernandez than what Middlesbrough have paid for Britt Assombalonga. Amazing business.

What a brilliant deal for the Hammers. For £17m, cannot believe none of the other so called 'big clubs' did not go for him.
