West Ham are on the verge of signing Mexico and former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez in what is an absolute bargain £16 million deal.

The 29-year-old striker has a record of scoring goals for fun in both the Bundesliga and the Premier League, and with West Ham desperate in their search for a world class striker, Chicharito – or the ‘little pea’ as he is known – seems to be the perfect fit.

However, with injury problems to both Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll and neither likely to either be or stay fit for the entire season, the Hammers still need extra additions to add to their somewhat feeble strike force.
