Stoke City midfielder Marko Arnautovic is set to have a medical at West Ham in the coming days after the Potters accepted a bid of £24 million for the Austria international earlier in the week, says Sky Sports.

The Hammers had already had two previous bids of £15 million and £20 million rejected by Stoke, and will now break their current transfer record to sign the 28-year-old after he handed in a transfer request at the club.

Should Arnautovic pass his medical and the deal go through as proposed, he would become Slaven Bilic’s third signing of the summer after West Ham already having completed the signings of Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart, both from Manchester City. The latter flew out to meet his new team-mates in Austria earlier this week having joined the club on a season long loan.

The Hammers are hoping a deal can be completed in time for the 28-year-old winger to fly out with the rest of the squad on Monday for the pre-season tour of Germany.
