David Gold himself said he wanted a ‘proven Premier League goalscorer’, and that is exactly what Ba is. Recruiting a player who has been there and done it before will not only be of instant benefit to the club, but also to the young players around him.
Ba may only have one/two solid seasons left in him, however during that period, it gives young players such as Ashley Fletcher and Toni Martinez a chance to develop alongside him and push there way into the Slaven Bilic’s side, eventually (or at least hopefully) taking the reigns from the Senegal international.
