Mark Noble has conceded that West Ham ‘need’ to add players this summer following the disappointment of the previous campaign while talking to Sky Sports News (via Sports Mole).

West Ham have already signed Pablo Zabaleta from Manchester City on a free transfer ahead of the new season, however Noble believes the club need more.

“I think we need to get a few in. I’m sure the chairman is working tirelessly to get them in but this market is so hard, players are so expensive now and you get priced out. We’re competing with so many other teams to get the players we want.” said the 30-year-old Englishman.

The Hammers have been linked with a number of high profile targets including Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud and Eupen star Henry Onyekuru, but Slaven Bilic is yet to make further additions to his squad besides Zabaleta.

The Croatian manager’s side finished 11th last season despite having spent the most part of the season in a relegation fight and are looking to strengthen before the new season begins in early August.
