West Ham fans have taken to twitter to share their reactions following the news that midfielder Havard Nordtveit has left the club after only one season to join Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in a deal worth a reported £8 million.
The Norwegian joined the Hammers only last summer on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach following six impressive years with the German outfit, but failed to have a similar impact at the London Stadium.
Nordtveit made only 11 starts in the Premier League for Slaven Bilic’s side, failing to establish himself as a first team regular despite hopes he would become a key figure int he heart of the Hammers midfield.
West Ham fans have been – to be it politely – cutthroat in their assessment of the 26-year-old’s perhaps premature departure from the club, with many believing the move will make way for others to come into the club in the coming transfer window.
Here are some of the best reactions for the Twittersphere …
£8M Harvard Nordtveit is not a bad deal considering us getting him for nothing and that's £45K off the wage bill

Sky Sports reporting that we sold Nordtveit for £8m. If so, that's good money.

Fernandes is more attacking minded. With Nordtveit leaving that opens up a space for him in the squad

Just found out that Nordtveit has a 't' in the middle of it. Finding that out was considerably more interesting than watching him play.
