West Ham are reportedly keen on Werder Bremen forward Max Kruse with Sport Bild reporting that the Hammers could be lining up a bid that would activate the striker’s buyout clause of €12million (£10.4million).

The German international has been in good form this season having scored 15 goals in 23 Bundesliga games. The 29 year old only made the switch from Wolfsburg for £6.4million at the start of the campaign.

West Ham may have to contend with interest from the Chinese Super League after BILD reported a couple of weeks ago that Tianjin Quanjian were interested in the forward. The paper say however that Kruse will need some convincing to move to the Far East and that he is not only looking at money in considering his next move.

He is said to have ambitions of playing in the Champions League so whether he would consider a switch to the London stadium remains to be seen.
