West Ham have sounded out Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford about moving to the London stadium, according to the Express.

A whole host of Premier League clubs are looking to sign the 23 year old after his excellent displays for the Black Cats this season, and with his team’s relegation to the Championship confirmed, the race to snap up the PFA Young Player of the Year nominee has begun to heat up.

The Hammers are clearly not happy with their current goalkeeping options with both Adrian and Darren Randolph having been dropped at different points in the season due to poor form.

Local newspaper the Northern Echo report that Everton are currently the front runners for Pickford’s signature with the Merseyside club said to be “increasingly confident” of wrapping up a £17m deal.

Sunderland manager David Moyes meanwhile has stated Pickford will only be allowed to leave for a “really big price,” indicating that the Black Cats will likely cash in on the keeper as they look to revamp the squad for a season in the Championship.
