West Ham and West Bromwich Albion will fight it out to sign Bristol City defender Aden Flint, the Sun is reporting. Journalist Alex Crook says the 27 year old is interesting both Premier League clubs.

The Robins have been involved in a relegation battle all season, and Lee Johnson’s side just managed to steer themselves away from the drop zone, finishing 17th on 54 points, just three points off the bottom three.

Flint’s side has conceded 66 goals in 46 games this season with the defender having played every single league fixture, conceding on average 1.4 goals every match.

The centre back was playing non-league football until 2011 before moving to Swindon Town. He then switched to the Robins two years later, grabbing headlines after scoring 15 goals as a centre half as Bristol City were promoted from League One to the Championship in 2015.

Flint has been less prolific during the Robins’ two seasons in the second tier, scoring five goals this season, and six goals last campaign. He has now reached 200 games for his current club, but he has never played in the top flight. Whether West Ham will take a gamble on the player, we will have to wait and see.
