West Ham are interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, according to the Sun. They are also keen to sign up team mate Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer, the paper reports.

Both players are free to talk to prospective clubs with their contracts expiring in the summer. In Toure’s case, Newcastle and Brighton could also be in the mix, although the 33 year old could still yet remain at the Etihad stadium.

The Ivorian had a huge falling out with manager Pep Guardiola earlier in the season after comments that were made by his agent Dimitri Seluk. The midfielder later apologised for Seluk, and he was reintegrated into the first team squad.

Toure has been a regular since the New Year, and his relationship with Guardiola has improved to the extent that the Spaniard now wants him to remain for another season.

The ex Barcelona player is however considering his options. Despite making 28 appearances this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists, Toure is seeking first team football next season. If Guardiola can’t guarantee that he may leave at the end of his contract, along with Zabaleta, with the Hammers poised to make contract offers to the pair of them.
