West Ham captain Mark Noble has promised West Ham fans that the players will stand toe to toe with title chasing Tottenham Hotspur in tonight’s derby clash.

Spurs are seeking to close the gap to leaders Chelsea to one point when they play at the London Stadium, but Noble has told the club’s official programme (via WHUFC.com) that they won’t make it easy for their opponents as they aim to reach their own targets:

“It’s an important game for us as well, because we need points and we want to finish as high as we can in the Premier League table. Hopefully, we’ll play as well as we can do and give Spurs a proper game, because that’s what the fans expect and that’s what we’ll try and give them.”

The midfielder returned after suspension for the game against Stoke City last weekend, but manager Slaven Bilic opted to keep the 29 year old on the bench for the 0-0 draw, although he was sent on as a substitute with 20 minutes to go.

Havard Nordtveit and Cheikhou Kouyate played in the holding midfield roles at the Bet365 stadium, and after helping to keep another clean sheet, the pair may well keep their places ahead of Noble for tonight’s game.
